Yes you need mspdebug 0.22-2. If you are on ubuntu<14.04 look here https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/trusty/+package/mspdebug
Download mspdebug 0.22-2 in i386 (Release), install and you are fine!

I am using SMPL_Link on 1 watch and SMPL_LinkListen on another watch but both the API’s are returning SMPL_TIMEOPUT.
